Homework Sept. 25- 28

Monday:
Superkids:
-Tonight's Spellings- Using the  'Say, Cover, Write, Check' method, spellings: 'candle', 'handle'

-Superkids readers: Practice 'ng' and 'le' words on page 31 before starting to read. Then, finish Fiddlesticks story by reading last 3 pages - (pages 39, 40 and 41).

Tuesday:
Superkids:
-Thursday's Spellings- Using the  'Say, Cover, Write, Check' method, for tonights spellings: 'battle', 'cattle' and 'rattle'
-Look over all spellings as test is tomorrow
Math: 
-Worksheet 4-5, complete side not done

Thursday:
*Envelopes are being sent home today as I was not in school yesterday. Please return envelopes and forms for tomorrow. 

Superkids:
-Readers: Read 'Super Scrub-a-matic' story- (pages 42, 43, and 44).
Math: 
-Worksheet 4-7, complete side not done

Homework (Sept. 18 - 21)

Monday:
*Talk to children about the Fun Run which is on this Friday.  Check out how our class are doing on stmfunrun.com
*There is a field trip to the library tomorrow and it's 'Talk like a Pirate' Day in the school. Children are required to wear their uniforms tomorrow. They can leave their pirate accessories in the classroom while we go to the library. 

Superkids:
There will be a spelling test on Wednesday the 27th.
-Tonight's Spellings- Using the  'Say, Cover, Write, Check' method, for Monday's spellings: 'do', 'have', and 'show'
Math: 
-Worksheet 3-3

Tuesday:
*Children's library cards are in their homework folders. Books can be returned within three weeks to any SF public library, or you can renew books online.
Superkids:
-Tonight's Spellings- Using the  'Say, Cover, Write, Check' method, for Tuesday's spellings: 'how', 'me', 'a'. 
-Children have a strip of paper from their Superkids workbook that has 'ng' and 'le' pattern words on ne side and memory words on the other side. Ask children to read the memory words aloud to you.
*Please display this strip somewhere they will see it often (e.g. the fridge)
Math: 
-Worksheet 3-4


Wednesday:

Superkids:
-Tonight's Spellings- Using the  'Say, Cover, Write, Check' method, for Wednesday's spellings: 'king', 'sing', 'bring'. 
-Superkids readers: Practice 'ng' and 'le' words on page 31 before starting to read. Then, read first 3 pages of 'Fiddlesticks' story - (pages 32, 33 and 34).


Thursday:

*Fun Run tomorrow! Children should wear something that will be comfortable for them to run in. We will have fun run t-shirts for them to wear. 

Superkids:
-Tonight's Spellings- Using the  'Say, Cover, Write, Check' method, spellings: 'long', 'song', 'strong'.
-Superkids readers: Practice 'ng' and 'le' words on page 31 before starting to read. Then, read next 4 pages of 'Fiddlesticks' story - (pages 35, 36, 37 and 38).

Chaperone needed for field trip on Tuesday, Sept. 19th

Hi all,

We are looking for a chaperone volunteer for the field trip to the library next Tuesday, the 19th. It would be ideal if this person has the Shield the Vulnerable program completed.

-Monday's Spellings- Using the  'Say, Cover, Write, Check' method, for Monday's spellings: 'math', 'path', 'moth' and 'cloth'
*Children have a strip of paper from their Superkids workbook that has 'th' spelling words on one side and 'wh' memory words on the other side: Ask children to read the 'wh' memory words (question words) aloud to you once tonight
-Please display this strip somewhere they will see it often (e.g. the fridge).
Math: 
-Worksheet 2-10

Tuesday:
*See blog post re chaperones needed for field trip next Tuesday
Superkids:
-Tuesday's Spellings- Using the  'Say, Cover, Write, Check' method, for tonights spellings: 'thin', 'think', 'then' and 'them'
*Children have a strip of paper from their Superkids workbook that has 'th' spelling words on one side and 'wh' memory words on the other side: Ask children to read the 'wh' memory words (where, what, why etc.) from the back of this and make up a question to use and say each question word e.g. "Where is my pencil?" "What time is it?"
Math: 
-Worksheet 2-11, complete side not done

Wednesday:
*Please fill in and return forms in Wednesday envelopes
Superkids:
-Wednesday's Spellings- Using the  'Say, Cover, Write, Check' method, for tonights spellings: 'where', 'what', 'why'
Religion:
It is 'N' week. Ask children to show you their Religion journal and to read to you their entry for N week. Discuss their drawing with them and how they can be Nurturing Individuals in school and at home.

STEM Bag: 
-We will be starting our first STEM project this week which will involve designing and building a boat
-Please put into the zip lock bag any of these items you may have spare in your house: straws, piece of cardboard e.g. side of a cereal box, string, yarn, page size of aluminum foil, duct tape, balloons

Superkids:
Spellings- Using the  'Say, Cover, Write, Check' method, for Tuesday's spellings: 'dash', 'crash', and 'trash'

Math: 
Worksheet 2-6

Wednesday
Thank you for STEM contributions!
Please go through and return Wednesday Envelopes.

Superkids:
Ask children to read 'Memory Words' from the strip given last Thur to be put on fridge (I, My, She etc.)
