(3) Your child finds his/her username on the class chart and enter their password (see letter)
(4) Register as a parent: Click on the green parent button at the top right of screen and enter your email address
(5) Send your email address(es) to me - oegan@stmsf.org
(6) Cut off and fill out bottom half of letter and return in child's homework folder

Religion:
It is All Saints Day. Talk to children about people they have encountered that have been a saint in their life so far.

-Children have a strip of paper from their Superkids workbook that have long vowel pattern words on one side and memory words on the other side. Ask children to read both sides of this strip aloud to you.

*For tomorrow's fieldtrip, please pack their snack in a plastic ziplock bag and put child's name on it 

Spellings:
-Tonight's Spellings: 'asking' and 'asked'  (point out to children that they are spelling 'ask' and then just adding the endings 'ed' and 'ing')
Reading:
-Superkids Reader - Practice the upper group of Unit 5 new vocabulary words on page 55, then read next two pages of 'The Monster Under the Bus', pages 58 and 59.

Tuesday:

As stated in newsletter, homework will not be given tonight so students and families can join others at Holy Name of Jesus Church at 6pm.

*To account for this, children's spelling test will be pushed forward to Friday.

First and Second Grade really enjoyed tuning in, along with many other classes around the country, to take part in California Academy of Sciences' streamable learning broadcast 'Penguins: Wings, Beaks and Feathers, Oh My!'.

SPOOKTACULAR Donations Needed

Parent club reminder:
the festival is quickly approaching and we still need your assistance with donations.
    The First grade class is hosting the Cake Walk, we are asking that each family donate $20 (any donation amount is appreciated) and/or baked goods for the cake walk prizes and decorations. 
    If you plan on giving a monetary donation please send by Oct 13 (tomorrow). If you are donating baked goods please inform your class reps and provide by Oct 20

Field Trip Tuesday

We are going on a field trip to Lemos Farm Pumpkin Patch this Tuesday, the 17th.

Thank you to the 4 chaperones who have volunteered to come!

Free Dress: Due to the nature of this trip, children do not have to wear their uniforms.

Snacks: Children will be back in school on time for lunch. However, they will be eating a snack when they arrive to the farm. It would be very helpful if you could pack their snack in a ziplock bag and write their name on it.
